Andy Cohen Not Leaving Bravo Any Time Soon

Speculation over Andy Cohen's future at Bravo arises as he and the network face an increasing number of complaints from former talent. Andy Cohen has no intentions to depart Bravo.

Following reports that the Watch What Happens Live host and Real Housewives executive producer was negotiating a departure deal after two decades, a Bravo spokeswoman confirmed that Cohen, 55, will continue with the network.

"There is absolutely no truth to this story — it is obviously made up by a source who is not credible," a spokeswoman said.

"Next year is my 20th year at Bravo," he said at the time. "Next year marks the 15th anniversary of Watch What Happens Live. I'll remain as long as Bravo wants me; as I once told a long-running housewife, being on TV is a privilege, not a right."

He went on to say, "And so, you know, we're all fortunate to be on TV for however long we are."

The reports of Cohen's leaving came only seven weeks after former Real Housewives of New York City star Leah McSweeney sued the veteran host.

Andy Cohen Is Not Leaving Bravo; “Absolutely No Truth” To Reports

In the complaint filed in the Southern District of New York, McSweeney, 41, alleged that the Real Housewives executive producer and Bravo fostered a "rotted" working atmosphere in which staff were forced to drink alcohol.

McSweeney reportedly accused Cohen of "cocaine use with Housewives and other 'Bravolebrities' that he employs" as well as offering "favorable treatment and edits" to individuals he allegedly took the drug with.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a source denied that Cohen "does cocaine with any Housewives," calling the claim "outrageous."

According to the site, a source close to the franchise's development said that McSweeney was in discussions to be cast on RHONY: Legacy but was eventually passed up for the ensemble due to her brief appearance on the show. According to a production insider, "If she was cast in Legacy like she wanted, this wouldn't be happening."

More than a week after McSweeney filed a complaint against Cohen, the executive producer's attorney, Orin Snyder, wrote to McSweeney that the document is "littered with false, offensive, and defamatory statements".

Snyder described "virtually every" charge made by the Bravo star as "categorically false" and warned additional legal action if she did not "immediately" recant and drop statements regarding Cohen's cocaine usage.

Andy Cohen Is Not Leaving Bravo Despite Legal Troubles, Says Network

"If you refuse to do so, Mr. Cohen reserves the right to hold you and your client accountable to the fullest extent of the law," the letter said. "To be clear, these charges are totally untrue. Mr. Cohen never took cocaine with any of the Real Housewives cast members or any other Bravo employees."

"The allegations were obviously made up by you and/or your client to achieve maximum tabloid clickbait value in the hopes of weaponizing these false allegations — along with other lies that permeate the complaint — as leverage to force an unjustified settlement," the letter went on to say. "It won't. Instead, this activity exposes you and your client to separate and significant legal risk."

Cohen apologized to Brandi Glanville in February, after she accused him of sexual harassment.

Glanville's lawyers Bryan J. Freedman and Mark Geragos issued a letter to NBCUniversal (Bravo's parent company), Warner Bros, and production firm Shed Media on Thursday, claiming Cohen gave her an improper tape in 2022.

"In a video sent to Ms. Glanville in 2022, Mr. Cohen — appearing obviously inebriated — boasted of his intention to sleep with another Bravo star that night while thinking of her and invited her to watch via Facetime," read the letter, which was filed in Los Angeles.

In reaction to the charges, Cohen offered an apology on X (previously Twitter).

"The video shows Kate Chastain and I plainly joking with Brandi. It was completely intended in fun, and Brandi's answer plainly indicated that she was in on the joke. "That said, it was completely inappropriate, and I apologize," Cohen wrote.
