Justin Timberlake's Arrest: All the Information You Need

On Long Island in New York, Justin Timberlake was detained early on Tuesday and charged with operating a vehicle while drunk. He was freed, and the district attorney's office for Suffolk County says his next court hearing is July 26. Representatives for Timberlake have not responded.

What you should know about the performer, 43, is as follows:

From R&b To Boy Bands

At age twelve, Timberlake made his acting debut with Britney Spears, his future fiancée, in Disney's "The All-New Mickey Mouse Club". He rose to prominence in 1995 as a member of NSYNC, which went on to become one of the all-time best-selling boy bands.

Their album "No Strings Attached" sold over 1.1 million copies on its first day and over 2.4 million copies in its first week of release in 2000. For almost a decade, it was a world record.

The band announced a permanent break in 2002. With singles like "SexyBack," "What Goes Around...Comes Around," and "Suit & Tie," Timberlake began a massive solo career.

After his Grammy-winning solo debut, "Justified," he released highly praised R&B-pop albums, including as "FutureSex/LoveSounds" in 2006. Not until 2018's folk diversion "Man of the Woods" did Timberlake's career start to wane.

His first new album in six years, the sentimental "Everything I Thought It Was," was published in March. It features a return to his signature future funk style.

Both On Stage And In Movies

After acting in many movies, Timberlake gained recognition for his performance as Sean Parker in the Academy Award–winning picture “The Social Network” and for his collaboration with Mila Kunis in the 2011 romantic comedy “Friends with Benefits.” As Branch's voice actor, he has been a major character in the animated "Trolls" series since 2016.

He's received ten Grammys. He received an Oscar nomination in 2017 for the song "Can't Stop The Feeling!" from the film "Trolls." For his many contributions to "Saturday Night Live," he has received four Emmy awards.

Timberlake's "The Forget Tomorrow" global tour began in April and will continue through December 20. He's playing in Chicago on Friday, then Madison Square Garden in New York City the following week.
