Man Arrested for Terroristic Threat at Morgan Wallens

Wallen was there at Arrowhead, where a guy wrote that he would kill "two members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization." Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, and Chris Jones were also present at the time.

An individual who was present at Morgan Wallen's concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on Friday night (August 2) was charged with a felony after making a threat on social media to shoot "two individuals, who were members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization" and who were present at the event. This information was provided by the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office in Missouri. Just prior to the country singer's performance that evening, players from the Kansas City Chiefs, including Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, and Chris Jones, were spotted at Arrowhead Stadium with Wallen.

Michael Mansur, the director of communication, is the one who issued the statement on behalf of Jean Peters Baker, the prosecutor for Jackson County. In the statement, the felony was referred to as a "terroristic threat."

There was a request for comment made by Billboard to representatives of both Wallen and the Kansas City Chiefs organizations.

Man arrested for posting "terroristic threat" at Morgan Wallen concert

According to the documents filed with the court, Aaron Brown, who resides in Winchester, Illinois, was charged with the class E felony of making a terrorist threat in the second degree. The charging document states that "the defendant knowingly caused a false belief or fear that a condition involving danger to life existed by posting on X (formerly Twitter) that he was going to shoot names redacted."

The defendant was paraphrased as adding, "It was a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake." This statement was included in the court filings. He said he had never made threats in the past on social media and stressed again that “it was stupid.” His partner told authorities that the claimed threat was made, and then erased, using a “burner” account where he’d “tweet stupid stuff.”

Earlier today, the defendant was charged with the crime, and a bail of $15,000 was stipulated. Prosecutors demanded a $250,000 cash bond,” according to the prosecutor’s office.

Wallen’s concert on Friday, the second night of his One Night at a Time Tour at Arrowhead Stadium, was delayed by 40 minutes while the defendant was discovered and captured by law officials.

According to the video footage that can be found below, the country artist ultimately made his entry into the concert alongside the Chiefs' Kelce, Mahomes, and Jones, who were seen energizing the audience. Wallen hugged all three before starting off his act, and Kelce was subsequently observed singing along to One Thing at a Time‘s “Last Night” from his room. (Taylor Swift, who’s linked to Kelce, was not in attendance; continuing on the European leg of The Eras Tour, she was playing in Warsaw, Poland, on Friday and Saturday.) The threat delayed the Wallen performance by 40 minutes, while Brown was identified and subsequently caught by police. He was subsequently charged with a class E felony of making a “terroristic threat” in the second degree. A $15,000 bail was allegedly imposed, with prosecutors demanding a $250,000 cash bond, according to their office.

In court filings, Brown was described as stating the X post was “a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake”, adding he had never made threats on social media before. His girlfriend also allegedly informed detectives that the claimed threat was sent and removed on a “burner” account where he’d “tweet stupid stuff.”

Representatives for Wallen and the Kansas City Chiefs have not yet replied to requests for comment by the media.

Last July, Wallen was struck by a fan’s phone during a live event. The country musician was playing a gig at Denver’s Mile High Stadium last week when someone hurled an iPhone onto the stage from the pit. The phone hit Wallen in the arm and landed at feet, but he scarcely flinched. He scooped it up, flung it to the side and kept on singing without missing a beat.
